Steven McElroy, a freshman at Cincinnati, and Texas A&M first-year athlete Ashton Schwartzman took the top two spots in the men's 400 meters at the USATF U20 Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. McElroy clocked 44.93 seconds to eclipse the meet record of 45.01 set by Jerome Young in 1995, with Schwartzman running 45.16.
